Friends and family of those aboard Continental Express Flight 3407 flocked in the Buffalo International airport to know about their near and dear ones.
For Sue Bourque, the wait for confirmation regarding her sister, Beverly Eckert, was all too familiar. Beverly Eckert is the widow of Sean Rooney, a Buffalo native who lost his life in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. She was actually travelling to Buffalo for a weekend celebration of what would have been her husband's 58th birthday. She also had planned to take part in presentation of a scholarship award at Canisius High School that she established in honor of her late husband. Well though they did not get the official news first but they knew she was in that plane.
Eckert, Rooney's high school sweetheart, continued to live in their home in Stamford, Conn., after the terrorists' attacks of 2001. As co-chairwoman of Voices of Sept. 11, she pushed for a formal commission to investigate intelligence failures and for a proper memorial to the victims.
Family members and friends identified two other people believed to be on the plane as Ellyce Kausner, a graduate of Clarence High School and Canisius College who was studying law at Florida Coastal University in Jacksonville, and Maddy Loftus, a Buffalo State College graduate who lives in New Jersey. Friends said Loftus was heading to Buffalo for a weekend reunion of Buffalo State women hockey players. One friend said she may have been flying with other young women heading here for the same reunion. It was a shocking news for all those people waiting for their friends and family in the airport to receive the passengers in the plane. They just would have never thought this would have happened.

Continental Airlines 3407 crashes in Clarence center, NY !!

American Morning had bad news for everyone. Another air crash incident in New york. What is really going on in that place. It was a Continental Airlines flight 3407 that crashed into a home near Buffalo, New York, late Thursday, killing 44 passengers and four crew members on board. Authorities said one person in the Clarence Center, New York, home was also killed. Four people were injured at the crash site, including a mother and daughter inside the house that was hit. They suffered minor injuries and were treated and released, said a spokeswoman at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville. Two firefighters also were brought in for treatment of smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
Continental Connection Flight 3407, a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 74-seat turboprop, operated by Colgan Air, was en route from Newark, New Jersey, to Buffalo when it went down at around 10:20 p.m. ET. The crash occurred about seven miles from Buffalo Niagara International Airport. It was a direct hit on the house. What was the reason. The only thing that was left was the Continental Airlines tail. It was a massive fireball in that place and the neighbours were also shocked. They felt like a sudden earthquake.
CNN has listened to a tape of communications between air traffic control and the flight crew. The first officer had no sign of stress in her voice. The plane was cleared for approach. About two minutes later, the air traffic controller came back, with stress in his voice. Radar contact was lost.
Well they still do not know the reason and think it may have been the sleet and the snow in that area that could have played a part in the crash. The Delta flight that had arrived reported rime icing, a condition in which ice quickly builds up on the leading edge of the wings.
Well since it had gone down near a local fire hall, firefighters were there to quickly respond to the situation. welve residents were evacuated from the area of the plane crash. Law enforcement officials are asking people not to go to the crash site in fear they may hinder the investigation.

US airways plane crashed into Hudson River

What can birds do to a biggg flight?? They can do anything and bring the whole aircraft down and that is what happened to the U.S. Airways Flight out of LaGuardia, NY that crashed into the Hudson River after it was struck by birds. Some are calling it the "Miracle On The Hudson." Bird strikes happen at low altitudes, during takeoff or landing. The plane is still in the water, but all passengers are reported to have escaped into rescue craft. Some 150 people aboard the US Airways plane en route to Charlotte, N.C., from New York City were rescued in a lightning-fast effort following the jet's crash into the frigid waters of the Hudson River off the West Side of Manhattan. US Airways flight 1549, an A-320 manufactured by Airbus, went down shortly after the pilot reported two bird strikes. He said only 30 seconds after takeoff at 3:26 p.m. ET, there was bird strikes.
The pilot, Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger III, was praised for his efforts at landing the plane softly on the river's surface, allowing rescue crews to get to the passengers before the plane sank.
"It would appear that the pilot did a masterful job of landing the plane in the river, and then making sure everybody got out," New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said at a news conference late today. The mayor said Sullenberger "walked the plane twice to verify if anyone was onboard" before exiting himself. "You've got to give it to the pilot. He made a hell of a landing," said Jeff Kolodjay, 31, a passenger on the plane from Norwalk, Conn.
All passengers and crew aboard were reported safe after New York City firefighters, police and ferries rushed to the aid of the US Airways jet, which floated in the river near the historic aircraft carrier The Intrepid. Passengers wearing yellow life jackets were rescued off the wings as others held onto the plane's seat cushions, which serve as flotation devices. Some of those rescued were taken to area hospitals to be treated for exposure and secondary injuries. Some 50 other people -- including several children -- were kept at a ferry terminal and warmed with blankets.
It's just unbelievable as to how such incidences happen. God saved all of them in the flight.
Homeland Security and FBI officials say there's no indication that the plane crash in New York City was terrorism.

Well another holiday season has come !!! Celebrations, decorations, sales and everything is on !! But what is most special about the Christmas time would be the Rockefeller center tree and this time it is a 72-foot tall Norway spruce of the grounds of Tree King nursery in Hamilton, which is owned by the Varanyak family. The 8-ton tree will be erected over the ice rink on Friday November 14th.
Fergie did the honours of unveiling the Swarovski Star, which will adorn the Rockefeller Christmas tree. The 33-year-old Fergalicious singer unveiled the 550-pound, 9.5-foot star, made of 25,000 crystals which will be set atop the giant X-mas tree.
The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be lit for the first time this holiday season on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008. It has been attracting so many tourists worldwide.
The line-up of performers will be announced soon and the whole star-studded spectacle will be broadcast live on NBC from 8PM to 9PM. The tree will be lit at 8.55pm.

You can also see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree from 5:30AM to 11:30PM daily from December 3rd, 2008 through January 9th, 2009 (and all day long on Christmas Day).

Extreme Makeover Home Edition,had boxing legends Oscar De La Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard and George Foreman and ESPN Anchors John Saunders and Brian Kenny make guest appearances in this week's episode. Ty Pennington and his team travel to Geneva, NY to help the Hill family who lives in a 200 year-old farm house, where they run a boxing gym for underprivileged teens. Tim Hill was an aspiring boxer, but his career ended when he broke his back working on a construction site. Since he could no longer box, Tim went back to college for a degree in social work. After college, he worked as a high school counselor.
Tim came up with the idea for the Geneva Boxing Team. For the past ten years, Tim has been training kids for free from eight years old up to twenty-one years old. Tim covers all the training expenses himself, and he has trained three Olympic hopefuls. That is simply great. Tim even has custody over one of the boxers he is training. Aleem Whitfield came from a family with twenty-three children, and he is now an Olympic hopeful. Tim also has three children of his own with his wife Michelle.
Ty Pennington, his design team, local builder Mahoney Design & Build Inc. and hundreds of volunteers will work to rebuild the Hill family’s 200 year old farm house, complete with a small boxing gym. The design team includes Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, John Littlefield and Didiayer Snyder.

Museum of Art and design has reopened !!

The Museum of Arts and Design is celebrating the opening of its new fancy building on Columbus Circle this weekend. Well it is also free admission to the public. The new building increased the MAD’s total space by threefold and doubled the gallery space that was previously available to the museum at its former location on 53rd Street. Now it is a prime spot at the center of the south side of the Circle with ribbons of glass along its exterior that allow natural light to illuminate the galleries while those inside have a clear view of Central Park.
The first featured exhibition at the new location is Second Lives: Remixing the Ordinary, which has works from over 50 artists who have taken mass-produced items and reimagined them as works of grandeur. Repurposing items from eyeglasses to high heels, the exhibit demonstrates how we can find beauty and a creative spark in the most mundane of objects.

Mets season over with Shea stadium closing , no playoffs !!

The Mets did not do it in the Shea this year also and will not be going to the playoffs after losing to the Marlins 4-2 in what will be the stadium's final game. They were not losing from first, and about halfway through their respective games, both the Mets and the Brewers were both down 1-0 and there had to be Mets fans hoping the team could just find a way to limp into tomorrow's one game playoff with Milwaukee.
But the Brewers were able to pull out a come from behind victory. The Mets couldn't. Carlos Beltran gave fans a glimmer of hope when he tied things up at 2-2 with a two-run homer in the sixth. But then the bullpen could not hold on and gave up back to back home runs to the Marlins in the 8th.
The end of the Mets' season was full of emotional vignettes as players struggled to explain the biggest question surrounding this team: How could this have happened a second year in a row? Once again, just as they did a year ago, the Mets missed out on a playoff berth on the final day of their regular season.

Chef ramsay in Trobiano's !!

Kitchen Nightmares featured the restaurant Trobiano’s in Great Neck, NY.
Anthony, the 12-year-old owner, started this restaurant just because he didn’t feel like working for anyone else. So, with that solid business plan in place, he asked his girlfriend’s parents to buy a restaurant for him. They opened an Italian restaurant on Long Island. The decor was not right and it looked more like the cafeteria of a nursing home. Anthony thinks he is too good in this and the restaurant is also $500,000 in debt!
Ramsay orders a meal - salmon with a side of spaghetti and that infamous chopped salad they serve. The food is beautiful and fancy, but tastes terrible. “It’s ghastly,” he says. He notices that a lot of customers are taking out doggie bags, and thinks the portions are too generous. He ordered two entrees, and his first, a chicken and shrimp dinner,comes out. It’s shrimp stuffed inside the chicken.
Anthony feels insulted when Ramsay is so unhappy and blasts. Ramsay sends the salmon back too, claiming it’s dry an inedible. Anthony is now furious. He can’t believe that Ramsay doesn’t love his food and won’t even taste it to see if it’s badly cooked.
At 7 pm,he sees that the restaurant is empty. Ramsay gives his comments about the hideous food. He calls Anthony out about being too proud to taste the dishes that were sent back to the kitchen.
Gordon goes into the kitchen, while the others keep talking. Ramsay finds a room full of filth and grease, and can’t believe the kitchen is in such a state. He even finds mouse droppings near the meat slicer. “For a chef to let go of his kitchen like this, shows he doesn’t care.”
Ramsay then tells them the situation and tells that Anthony wouldn't listen to him also. Anthony is arrogant and won’t take responsibility for himself, and Ramsay calls it quits. Anthony chases after him and admits he needs help.
Ramsay then teaches them how to make fresh mozzarella, which apparently only takes 45 minutes. That was good !! Anthony also then does some mistake and the fire alarm is on.!! A critic from Bon Appetit magazine come and enjoy their meal after all the relauch of the restaurant. So everyone is happy !!
Ramsay gives Anthony a ring and arranges for him to get married that night with Tiffanty Ramsay even has a dress ready for her, and a priest!haha !!
So dunno what is going to happen now in the future !!

Chef Ramsay in Black Pearl restaurant in NY !!

This time Chef Gordon Ramsay pays a visit to a seafood restaurant called the Black Pearl. The Black Pearl is located in New York. What all happens in the restaurant, lets have a look !!
First the lunch isn’t exactly a disaster, but it’s not that good, he thinks.After lunch, Gordon meets with the owners, David, Brian and Greg. Three owners makes it a crowd,especially since the third partner was brought in solely because the first two didn’t want to put in their own money. This dint work well also as the restaurant is now a quarter of a million dollars in debt. In an after-service meeting, Gordon brings up the fact that the Maine lobsters that they’re selling are actually Canadian. David argues that they both come from the North Atlantic waters, so Canadian lobsters are the same thing as Maine lobsters.
The next day, Ramsay has a staff meeting, since there hasn’t been one in seven months. Basically there is no one to manage these employees, they are crying out for management and direction, so they’re actually begging for policies to be enacted and for one of the owners to actually act as a general manager. So he keeps a vote for a general manager, and they all choose Greg.
At the next dinner service, Brian gets sent home, and Greg and David alternate between front and back of the house.
Ramsay commends Greg’s heart, but tells Brian that he’s lazy, and David that he doesn’t actually give a crap about the restaurant; that he’s just using this restaurant to stroke his own ego. Waw that was tough. So obviously David is furious and thinks that his restaurant can succeed. So David challenges Gordon to return in four months to see how good it is gonna be.
So what happens four months later when Gordon returns? Lets wait and watch.

July 4th Macy's fireworks 2008 !!

Well you must have heard about Macy's fireworks every july 4th. This year again fourth of July fireworks will be at approximately 9pm. Four barges stationed between 23rd and 42nd Streets in the East River set off 20,000 aerial shells and special effects. There are electric set pieces on the barges, and the New York Fire Department gets in on the act with fire boats shooting red, clear, and blue water 300 feet over the river. So where should you go watch this??
* TV and Radio: The fireworks will be televised nationally on NBC, and live spectators can tune in to 1010 WINS AM radio during the show for Macy's specially recorded musical accompaniment.

* Manhattan: Southbound lanes of the FDR drive from 14th to 42nd Street will be open for the public from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. On-ramp entrances for pedestrians (including the disabled) are located at 23rd, 38th, and 42nd streets. The FDR Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic between Houston St. and 63rd St. from 7:00pm until 1:00am.

* Brooklyn/Queens: Great views from Hunter's Point, Queens, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and anywhere with an unobstructed view of the East River between 23rd & 42nd Sts.

* Watercraft: All spectator vessels in the East River must stay south of the Williamsburg Bridge or north of the Southernmost tip of Roosevelt Island. Vessels in Newton Creek should stay east of the Pulaski Bascule Bridge.

The show, billed as an "All-Star Concert in Central Park," will take place in conjunction with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, which is set for July 15 at Yankee Stadium. "We've gotten the chance to bookend what is the most successful tour in the world this year with a free concert for anyone in New York," frontman Jon Bon Jovi said at a news conference alongside New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and other officials. "I just traveled the world again, and New York is still the greatest city in the world." The concert will take place at 8 p.m. on the park's Great Lawn and will not be televised. Fans will be allowed to enter the area beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available beginning July 2 at baseball parks as well as at events throughout New York. No more than 60,000 tickets will be distributed in an attempt to maintain the safety and integrity of the lawn's grass, Bloomberg said. "Our interest is in keeping the park open and making sure at the same time that we protect the investment the public has made," he said.

The band's "Lost Highway" tour wraps July 14-15 with a pair of Madison Square Garden arena shows in New York.

For 110 days, artist Olafur Eliasson’s New York City Waterfalls will pump 35,000 gallons of water per minute up and over four man-made towers – including one taller than the Statue of Liberty – inviting the public to the waterfront to not only explore the installation, but to have a good think.
The exhibition consists of four waterfalls:
Under the Brooklyn Bridge at the Brooklyn-side anchorage (80 feet wide, 90 feet high)
North shore of Governors Island (60 feet wide, 110 feet high)
Pier 35 in Lower Manhattan (30 feet wide, 110 feet high)
Piers 4 and 5 in below the Brooklyn Heights Promenade (30 feet wide, 120 feet high)

Smiley face killers leave signs for what ??

So this smiley face appearing everywhere after a guy has been killed has been found in many places in the country...what really is it???..Detectives Kevin Gannon and Anthony Duarte have been tracking the suspicious drowning deaths of young men across the country ever since they investigated the death of college student Patrick McNeill, who drowned in New York City in 1997. Gannon made a promise to McNeill's parents that he would never give up on his case. When the detectives took a look at Jenkins' death, they discovered that the position of his body and other physical evidence proved that the college student didn't drown accidentally. The cause of death on Jenkins' death certificate was changed to "homicide." While most local investigations focus on where a body was recovered, Gannon and Duarte wanted to know where the body went into the water. If they could figure out that location, the detectives believed they'd be able to gather evidence from the actual crime scene. In city after city, the detectives found a smiley face painted somewhere at the crime scene. The color of paint used and the size of the faces varies, but the detectives are convinced it is a sick signature claiming responsibility for the homicide. The detectives found the smiley faces in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa. Gannon and Duarte also came to the surprising conclusion that more than one person is involved in the murders. "Because there's such a wide range of states the killings are through," Gannon said today in an exclusive interview on "Good Morning America." "Besides the fact that we have multiple victims on the same night." At the crime scene of a drowning in Michigan, Gannon and Duarte discovered grafitti that they believed was written by the killers, but were puzzled by a word they hadn't seen before. "We found 'sinsiniwa,' which was very suspicious at the time," said Gannon. Then the detectives found the strange word in Iowa, where they were investigating the drowning death of 24-year-old Matt Kruziki. Bloodhounds tracked Kruziki's scent to an intersection near the Mississippi River. The detectives believe that is the location where the killers slid Kruziki's body in the water it was at Sinsiniwa Avenue. "We believe they were specifically leaving a clue for us or anyone who was paying attention to these drownings, that the cases were ultimately linked," Gannon said. Paul McCabe of the FBI office in Minneapolis said the bureau investigated some of the deaths late last year and concluded that they were accidental drownings. He said an FBI behavioral analysis, requested by a Wisconsin police chief, concluded that there was probably not a serial killer at work. McCabe said his office is not actively investigating any of the deaths but would be interested in seeing any new information that Gannon and Duarte had discovered. Gannon said they were publicizing their conclusions now because they are looking for help. "Right now really we're out of finances and really can't do any more on the cases. In fact, we looked at 89 cases in totality. We knocked out 30 right away and there was 19 cases that we haven't even done yet and out of those 19, they look like at least 10, 15 of those could be connected," Gannon said. Chris Jenkins' mother, Jan, like the McNeills and other families, want answers about how their son died. "The people that murdered Chris have murdered before him and they've also murdered people after him and those people are still at large," Jan Jenkins said.

NYC crane accident !!!

There was a big crane accident which killed seven people when a construction crane collapsed in New York... Four construction workers were initially confirmed dead and then later three more were found in the remains of the buildings on Manhattan's east side. Recovery workers used thermal imaging devices and sniffer dogs over the weekend in the search for those missing after the accident. The building under construction, a 43-story residential building, had been cited for 13 safety violations, and five of those still needed to be resolved, according to Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer. This is something which u can never tell would happen. This is such a big alert for them from now on...Still search is goin on for a construction worker and a woman missing in the debris of a collapsed town house..Nearly 24 people have been injured..It destroyed the 4-story brownstone, sheared the corner off of a 6-story apartment building and closed 4 blocks on Manhattan's east side..The crane toppled Saturday afternoon as workers added a section to its top so that they could build the next floors on what is planned to be a 46-story luxury condominium with a rooftop pool at 303 E 51st St.

Baby !!...And yes...There was joy everywhere..Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony gave birth to twins today morning and now they are parents of a boy and a girl...They are believed to have chosen Max and Emme for the twins....She gave birth in Long Island's North Shore University Hospital just after midnight...The 5-pound, 7-ounce baby girl arrived first, and was then followed by her 6-pound brother minutes later...She was given a private suite where staff members were banned to enter for 2 weeks..The suite was fully furnished with privacy screens, brown leather couch, wooden floors and two giant plasma TV's. 'Code Pink' drills were done before by the staffs so that if someone attempted to kidnap her kids, they would be in alert..They were really happy and excited and thrilled for the kids...They got married in 2004..

"I want to apologize to the New York Yankees and to the Houston Astros organizations and to their fans, and to all my teammates, and to all baseball fans for the embarrassment I've caused them," Pettitte said in a nationally televised press conference. Why did he do this ??... Well he said he dint want to be in the disabled list and wanted to show results for his $31.5 million contract with the Astros...So he tried HGH to heal an elbow he hurt in the first game he pitched in 2004. He said the drugs didn't help. Pettitte admitted getting the drugs in 2004 from his father, Tom, who had been taking them for a variety of health ailments, including heart problems. So by this Clemens came to know that former trainer Brian McNamee had given Debbie an HGH injection.. He wasn't happy when he found out. After that he tried to call McNamee and he wouldn't respond....he wanted to know because she was not feeling comfortable, and something about her circulation. Well now this also contradicts to what Clemens had told previously that he never talked to McNamee about steroids or HGH. McNamee gives a very different story to this. After a long time.....there came the Snow...!!! running down!!!...falling everywhere.....falling on everyone....Its such a long time that we ever saw snow in New York....for 2008.....and yes it was so wonderful....so great...and lovely to be in that snow...It was so wild...for few mins....and then goes down...and then wild again....ofcourse it was not that kind of snow that stayed down....later it became little kind of rain .....but then it was great when it was snowing.....u see people covered with snow....in their black jackets and their hats.....u can not walk as the snow is so coming to the eyes....i mean....i have no words...it was wonderful....have a look...

Dollar.....what happened???...falling and falling !!!..OOps!!..Its just not what it was before...Just think of people who have been saving in dollars and then move to UK or singapore or India...I mean they lose so much...Lots and lots they lose....And Euros...my god ...is getting stronger and stronger...SO u wont believe it...Some shops in New York city have started accepting Euros and other foreign currency...SO they dont mind the exhange and think they can always have them as Euros itself also....The weakening of the US dollar has now brought so many European tourists coming and just burning their money and they want to take the advantage of the hugely favorable exhange rates....well...now the shop keepers think that they have to start knowing all the currencies like the British Pound and the Canadian dollar....Shops in many US towns on the Canadian Border have been accepting the Canadian currency for a long time...On the Texas-Mexico border again they have been accepting Pesos...So now it has started in Manhattan....Leroy says if he gets Euros ...he does not have to exchange them as he thinks he could use them when he visits Paris...He thinks he wouldnt have the nightmare of going to exchange place...

Hillary Clinton won in New York and New Jersey in the Democratic side...the big states...with more delegates....She got almost like a million of them in New York...In New Jersey around 600,000 of them voted for her....so that was 57% in NY and 54% in NJ against Barack Obama's 44% in NJ and 40% in NY..in the Republicans John McCain was outstanding and got around 300,000 votes in both NY and NJ...51% in NY and 55% in NJ...so it was a tough race and exciting....still no clear cut on the nominees....so this is going to continue after the Super tuesday results also...

Imagine around 3 million fans trying to see the NY Giants players in Broadway in Manhattan. ..that was the amount of happiness and so they all wanted to share it with the players...The ticker tape parade to celebrate the biggest victory over the New England Patriots went on and on...Mayor Bloomberg presented the team with keys to the city....This was really a big win for New York....for New York football....for New York Giants....The parade of the Big Blue Homecoming was amazing...Never have we seen such a day where the players and the fans mingle in one place, talking and signing and just enjoying....Lots of confetti , and ticker tape and what not...The players were have video cameras taping the fun and frolic happening there...all waving and so happy...."This is the greatest city in the world," Eli Manning said at City Hall yesterday. This is such a great place if u want to have falafal and salads....tiny place but always u can find people packing and taking the falafal or standing and eating there...During summer they take it and eat in the part there....in union square else in winter now it is tuf i know, since there wouldn't be enough place, they might not go or they might just squeeze in and have a quick bite and leave.....what is falafal or felafel or falafel...whtever....well it is a fried ball or patty made from spiced fava beans or chickpeas. A popular form of fast food in Middle east....usually served in pita bread....in Maoz...u can also eat it as a salad box...Maoz is a chain of falafel restaurants founded and owned by Amsterdam based Israelis. Now they have in many locations in the world. They are exclusively vegetarian...They have a very small menu, pretty much just falafel, frites and a small salad bar ( with lots of olives,carrots,pickled figs,salsas, roasted broccoli, roasted cauliflower, cucumber, tomatoes and so forth). They have these garlic, yogurt, tahini sauces....I dont like the fries much over there...otherwise u shud visit there once...to see the arrangements and the food....its clean also...but just that they got to make it little bigger...its open very late also...check their website Maoz

And yes they have done it !!!!!! NY win the Super bowl .....Vince Lombardi Trophy.... what a game it was !!!!! SO exciting.... 17-14 so close it was finally..... First 3 and then a great touch down by Tyree that made it to 10....That gave the Giants the lead.....it was a big fight....after another touch down by Patriots New York was under pressure....The turning point of the game was when ELi Manning avoided a sack and was able to complete first down with a pass to Tyree....The next touch down by Plaxico Burress sealed the deal.... And the MVP was none other than our ELi Manning and would have been happy with the key to his new Cadillac Hybrid. NY Giants are now the Super bowl Champions....question for Tom Brady - How does it feel to be beaten by a Manning for the second year running ????.....

The Australian-born,28, was found face down and naked in his bed where a bottle of prescription sleeping pills were present in the night table..The housekeeper and a massage therapist found him unconscious when he did not respond to a knock on the bedroom door...They immediately called the police and moved him down..They found other prescription medications in the bathroom...Autopsy is to be done...It is a sudden and unexpected event in hollywood...His movie '10 things I hate about you' is famous and 'Brokeback mountain' is where he found his wife, Michelle Williams and now has a 2yr old daughter, Matilda...But they broke up last year...and he loved his daughter very much. What could be the reason???... That was such a wonderful game Giants Vs Packers inspite of the worst weather......And yes now Giants have made it to the Super Bowl and are to face the Unbeaten Patriots on Feb 3rd in Arizona......The Patriots could win their fourth title in seven seasons and become only the second team in NFL history to make a perfect run to the crown after the 1972 Miami Dolphins. 20-20 tie had given way to the 4th quarter where.....Lawrence Tyne who missed two field goal attempts ..... booted a 47 yard field goal .....which gave the Giants a victory......The Giants, who last reached a Super Bowl in 2001 and last won one in 1991, have won an NFL-record 10 games on the road, including playoff triumphs at Tampa Bay and Dallas before ousting the Packers.lets wait for this big football game......

Waterfalls as Art in New York East river ...!!!

So what more is needed for New york other than all the attractions already present....well now there is something more....big...and watery...It's the waterfalls...Four giant waterfalls will be erected in New York for three months this year....One will fall from the famed Brooklyn Bridge...Three of the waterfalls will cascade into the East River and New York Harbour from free-standing scaffolding towers that are part of the Danish artist Olafur Eliasson's artistic vision, mirroring the scaffolding towers that sprout up throughout New York. They should be in place from mid-July to mid-October.The installation is to cost very litte.....just $US 15 million funded by private donations to New York's Public Art Fund. So now they want more tourists and think increased hotel, restaurant and other business revenues linked to the waterfalls should bring an additional $US55 million to the city's economy. It would really be a good business for those cruises and boats tho'...The Circle Line boat company will offer free and discounted trips to give visitors a closer look at the waterfalls....waw...that is lovely !!!
But Eliasson says Circle Line boats will not be able to get as close to the water as tourist boats do to New York state's most famous waterfall, Niagara Falls, on the Canadian border....Oh...never can u match that any day !!!....Niagara is just amazing !!!...So let us wait for that watery project to start !!!...

Well, dunno if u remember ............There was this guy, Mark Malkoff who is a comedian and a writer.....who went to all the starbucks in Manhattan and had the coffee there....He did this in just 1 day.....and had visited ...the total of 171 starbucks......That was a big news.....

Now what is he upto....Well dont ask !!!!...I would say , he is the most brilliant guy ever.....He has his New york apartment being fumigated coz of cockroaches...So has no place to stay for a week.....He thinks about friends place, hotels....this tht....nothing works....He thinks of IKEA in Paramus, New Jersey.....What an advertisement I say....Ikea is such a famous store already and he makes it more popular....He goes to the manager and asks if he could stay for a week.....and yes he is....from the 7th to the 12th jan 2008....waw....Isn't that great....i would have loved to stay there.....great beds, furniture, appliances.....my god.....tht was amazing....U can watch the videos....they are just hillarious.....Catch him here... Well, Happy new year 2008 to everyone....Little late tho'.....So hope u all had a great party....In NY....ball drop is the famous one and the central park fire works....I would say it totally depends on the crowd.....where u r standing......U got to be waiting from 31st morning if u want to be in the front....Else by evening it becomes so crowded, tho the ball appears small everytime....
But again the ball drop wasn't so fascinating or amazing....no it was not....the fireworks were so lame....just when u turn back , u see the amazing central park fire works.....so I wud say, staying closer to to the 50's ....wud be good view of both ...... But cmon guys, just not worth waiting for 6-7 hrs and the ball drop being just nothing so good....wud say better....u watch in the television....it was better in that.....other countries had amazing fireworks like london, hong kong, japan.....it was just worth the wait there.....

Visiting New york this winter, then do not miss the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The whole area is lit so beautifully and its just colorful everywhere. The Christmas tree is typically a Norway Spruce. The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is going "greener"— with energy-saving lights replacing old-fashioned bulbs on the towering evergreen this year. Weather permitting, the tree will also get some of its electricity from 363 solar panels just installed atop Rockefeller Center. The 84-foot-tall tree is covered with 30,000 multicolored light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, strung on five miles of wire. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place on November 28, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. The annual event was televised and featured musical performances from a variety of popular artists. The Rockefeller Center tradition was started in 1931. The Rockefeller skating rink is again a big feature amidst the lighting. This ice rink is a restaurant in the summer. You have many people skating and the others watching. Its crowded always and those restaurants are always so booked . Another thing, it is a real Swarovski star on the top of the tree.
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is illuminated from 5:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. daily, except on Christmas and New Year's Eve. Since Christmas is gone, the lights will be turned off at 9 pm on New Eve . The tree comes down on jan 6th 2008.
Rockefeller Center is located in the center of the complex of buildings between 47th and 50th Streets and 5th and 7th Avenues. Closest subway - B/D/F/V to 47-50 Sts/Rockefeller Center or the 6 to 51st/Lexington .

On the other hand, his former trainer Brian McNamee has maintained that he infact had injected the Rocket with steroids and HGH in Toronto and New York.

But if you are lucky enough to stop, open the door, walk up a staircase, and pull away two thick, square curtains hanging down mid-waist, Cha-an's warmth will encompass you immediately. Sensational Japanese tea house with excellent service, fine food and delightful assortment of teas. They have great lunch/dinner "sets", dishes and fabulous desserts that go great with their amazing selection of teas. Dim lit and quiet, the room is filled with wooden square tables and Japanese simplicity. The menus come in a big book. The majority of the book is dedicated to all the types of tea that they have. When the plate was served, the waitress rested a set of chopsticks atop a little black stone. The chopsticks were tied with a pink string making the experience seem like an exquisite little gift...The sweet potato samosas were presented in a relatively simple, yet still beautiful Japanese bowl. It consisted of a steamy paste of sweet potato which filled a flaky filo pastry. As I pierced and broke the samosas with the chopsticks, the scent of the delicate, sweet flavors was released. This place is just authentic everywhere . Finally, I have to mention the neorest toilet in the bathroom, with its naughty, bidet style sprayer with its temperature control and positioning remote, not to mention the 'oscillating' and 'pulsating' functions. Well it is in Las Vegas, in the strip...It is the 'New York-New York Hotel & Casino' that has the theme of the city and its architecture replicates the New York City skyline. The hotel includes several towers resembling the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. In front is a pool representing New York Harbor, replica of the Statue of Liberty, a roller coaster, and replicas of the Brooklyn Bridge, Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Grand Central Terminal. Its like you are in New York... They have a great casino named after 'Central Park' . A new yorker should never miss this place when he visits las vegas.

DIMPLE is VATAN ...... what ????.... yes....

On the 30th street between 5th and broadway avenue was Dimple before....Now it is DIMPLE again but the management has been changed and is now owned by the same folks who own Vatan, which is currently being renovated. VATAN is coming up with a more bigger restaurant in that place. Dimple currently has Vatan's menu and its style -- the menu is solely prix-fixe and served in courses, but you can have unlimited helpings of any disk in any of the courses. Dimple has wonderful, authentic food, and it's often food that you will not find easily in other Indian restaurants.

Dimple has an open ambience and is very different from the old Vatan's. The servers are all dressed in traditional Indian dresses, and even the plates are authentic stainless steel, with metal jugs for water.

But now Dimple not only serves Dinner but also has lunch and snacks now. They are closed on Mondays.

LUNCH and SNACKS Tuesday-Saturday, 12:15pm- 3:15pm. Closed for Lunch on Sundays.

DINNER Prix Fixe Menu Tuesday-Sunday 5:30 Pm

All in all, a bargain at $24.95/person, and certainly some of the best Indian food in the city.

Halloween comes to Bleecker:

Ralph Lauren and Marc Jacobs are only two of the many stores on Bleecker that have "decked" up their windows for Halloween. Yes, there's ghoulish Dubya too. I must agree with RackedWire - the only thing scarier is the line outside Magnolia Bakery. The picture below was taken a little after 10pm and the line was half a block long - nothing unusual.

Are the cupcakes worth the wait? Well, you can get good ones at Amy's Bread (250 Bleecker), Tonnie's Minis (120 W 3rd) or Billy's Bakery (120 W 3rd btn 21st & 22nd). Strangely, the cupcake seems to taste better after a long wait.

They have started with the tv ad to show to all overseas about New York.

FUERZABRUTA ....... Can u pronounce that first ???....Well , well . It's actually going to be people running around here and there in a stage.....Not so simple....its just not running...its running through a wall, dancing in the water just on top of ur head, people trying to collide, people flying the air ...its just anything and everything that is so unimaginable....Its going to be stunning with those lighting effects and the sound tracks that vil b played to make those noises. I am just waiting to go and see it......35 $ per person....little too expensive i guess....might b worth it ...who knows!!!!

So this group coming after their rounds in South America and Europe are goin to debut in New york this week on thursday the 11th oct. The Bar shampoos just look so similar to the Bath Bars so it does look abit silly when putting on the hair, all you do is either rub it on your hand then on to hair or rub straight onto wet hair. The liquid shampoo and conditions are very simple to use as its the same as using any normal shampoo etc. If you have damaged or oily hair , you can find many products to help restore your hair and they really do work. Lush also sells Hair Moisturisers, but they dont stand for long.
Bubble Bars - These are bars which can be broken up into pieces and put under running bath water to create that extra special foamy bath. You can get many different varieties and each one has different effect. Many come in different themed shapes, some look like Christmas puddings, trees, sweets, Flowers.
Body Butters - This items are bars which you can use in the shower or Bath. They are very simple to use, you just rub them over your body, rinse and then dry. You will then be left with clean, refreshing and smooth skin. Some of the products can be a bit rough when using them but other than that they really do make your skin feel great.
Face masks - Face masks are simple to apply just rub onto the face avoiding eyes and mouth area (they do not taste nice), leave on for about 10 minutes and rinse off. Its ideal to store these in the fridge to give a better texture and feel. Its really an awesome product. They explain which one is good for ur skin and tel the ingredients in the mask and help u out.
Shaving Products - Lush also sells shaving products which are suitable for males and females. They come in different forms gels, liquids or soaps.
Shower Products - You can buy from Lush several shower items .Shower gels are very simple to use because they are just a liquid, they come in different sizes depending on what you can afford or need. I find the shower gels don't always smell nice so prefer to use soap or jelly instead which give off a better aroma.

Massage products - Massage bars are great fun to share with your partner and are very simple to use. Just rub directly onto the body and rub in with your hands. The massage bars have many different advantages, some relax you, some are good for your mussels and some good for your skin. The massage bars are very greasy and can take a good while to rub in.
Hand and Body lotions: These items come in little tubs and are suitable for different types of Skin to make them feel and look better. They are very easy to use, just apply with you hands and rub in.
Gift Sets - Gift sets come in different sizes, themes, colors, types and prices. Really a great gift to a person who is fond of smell and beauty products.
For the Men: Don't forget Lush also does products for men. The shaving gels, soaps are really good if they are goin to try them out.
Staff - I have always found Lush staff excellent. The staff knowledge is great if you want to know something about a product and they always seem to know or give helpful advice.

Bronx Zoo - A great place to have fun !!!!!

Would you believe that this is the largest metropolitan zoo in the US? Right here in the Bronx, a train or subway ride away from Manhattan. This zoo is indeed very big, and will easily offer a whole day of educational entertainment. The tickets aren't too expensive and you get great deals for groups. Plan your visit as Wednesday's are "dontaion day" here and they are free , but very crowded. Again, ofcourse like any other place , weekends and holidays are crowded. Be ready to walk and walk and wear comfortable shoes. It’s an excellent place for kids and adults alike. There is a monorail that takes you on a ride around the zoo grounds. It’s a good way to get an overview of the place and to sit after the hours of walking. Plan ahead and pack a little picnic beforehand. There are many cafes and food counters available. Check for winter schedules, as some sections of the zoo are closed.

The animals have their home in a more natural environment rather than being caged. The Zoo is really huge and it is really tuf to complete the whole in a day. It's all region wise here like The African Plains, Butterfly Garden, Congo Gorilla forest, Himalayan Highlands, Tiger Mountain, Sea lion Pool, World of birds, reptiles and so on......

The zoo is especially known for its "Wild Asia" tramway, a monorail that allows spectators to observe Asian animals, and "Jungleworld", an indoor exhibit on plants and animals from tropical rain forests. The zoo features the Congo Gorilla Forest, the largest manmade rainforest in the world . Other large indoor exhibitions include "World of Darkness", which showcases nocturnal animals including caimans, bats, and naked mole rats. The building is kept completely dark during visitor hours to keep the animals active. The lights are turned on after closing, letting the creatures sleep. The zoo is also home to several indoor bird houses including "World of Birds", the famous two-story bird house containing hundreds of species. Here visitors can see the keepers toss live crickets to white-throated bee-eaters, as the birds catch the crickets midflight.

You can also spot snow leopards in the naturalistic Himalayan Highland Habitats. The tree kangaroo with her overgrown baby trying to pack himself into her pouch is hilarious! He did fall out of the tree, which worried the employee supervising that area, but after a few seconds of trembling he started to climb the tree again to reach his mother. The monkeys are just hilarious!..You will like the giraffes, which are indoors and in a huge building with painted wildlife backgrounds.

But dont be disappointed at the number of animals missing - bears behind a hill, the tigers nowhere to be seen, one mangy lion roaring off in the distance ...it happens....!!!! Yout gotta plan and go as these animals have their feeding time or entertainment time...when they come near the viewing rooms , so dont miss that.....

You can find polar bear in its own den with ice all around..You can see koala bear, grizzly bear and everything and anything here in this zoo...You can also find black squirrels, peacocks with their colorful feathers goin here and there...I am sure you wud have a great outing on a beautiful day !!!

Best views of the Manhattan Skyline !!!!!

New York City contains just about everything the human eye could crave to see. Where do u think u can have the best view of the Manhattan Skyline !!!!....

Its the view from Jersey city waterfront walkway....That 's the best skyline view you wud have ever seen in ur life...Anytime of the day it's just beautiful.....be it in the morning or when it is cloudy or when it is filled with fog or during the night. I wud say the night time is the best especially on week days when all the lights in the buildings are lit.... Its again beautiful on a full moon day. U can also see it during sunset when the rays are falling on the buildings.... It wud be glowing .... U can see the Empire State, Chrysler building, New York life and the Woolworth light up the evening sky.

Next, going further towards the north is the view from hoboken waterfront. Here u can see the Empire state closer. It's just a great place to relax and there are a couple of bars on the waterfront where you can enjoy the view on a night out. There are many movies that are shot in this place. One of the greatest things about Hoboken is the view and any day those houses which have the view are the costliest.

Now going to the New york side itself, if you want to see the skyline from afar and for free , start in Brooklyn. There’s the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, perched above the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, this 1/3-mile long walkway provides a fantastic place to stroll and stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. The Promenade is lined with grand townhouses and mansions and is a favorite destination for joggers, walkers and roller-bladers. Tourists come to snap photographs, and tv crews come to shoot commercials and music videos with the skyline as a backdrop.

To enjoy New York with a local crowd, go to Brooklyn - 45th Street and climb to the top of Sunset Park. You can take in the Manhattan skyline along with your food from one of the restaurants down.

There’s only room for four at another great spot for viewing Midtown: the wooden deck chairs at the end of the “Sunning Pier” in Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, Queens. The park sits across the East River from Manhattan, and if it weren’t for the massive United Nations building hogging the foreground, the skyline would be perfect. By the way, if the four seats are taken, there are plenty of other piers, and you can also take a quick walk over to the Water Taxi Beach, a new hangout with actual sand and the same view.

Boats also provide ever-changing views of the city. The best and the free one is the Staten Island ferry, but the angle hardly varies: the financial district gets smaller as you go, and bigger as you return. There are the standard Circle Line tours also which take the same route and show you the Skyline and the Statue of liberty , but with a fee. But for a faster and more enjoyable alternative, take a New York Waterway commuter ferry to New Jersey and back.

The Governors Island waterfront offers some of the most dramatic and impressive views of the New York skyline, Jersey city and New York Harbor, including the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The northern half of the Island has been designated as both a National Historic Landmark District and a New York City Historic District. This island is open to the public only during summer and the ferry service connects Manhattan to this island. A great place for picnicking, bike riding, touring the National Historic District, and enjoying summer programs.

hmmm...Well i have been to a cricket match as well as a baseball match. Still find cricket matches more fun and lively than baesball matches. Though cricket grounds are very big and tough to get those first row tickets, the people around and the sound and the mexican waves and the bottle bangings....they r just sooo good.....Dint find all tht much in baseball matches. Atleast we get those kinda passes for cricket matches so v can sit in the pavillion or special boxes but for baseball matches the tickets are so expensive that you cannot afford to sit in the first few rows at all. But in baseball matches, they give loadsa freebies to people. That was really fun and nice when they throw the shirts or any stuff by shooting it with a gun . Very funny !!!!....

The relation between cricket and baseball goes back to the 17th century. The English who migrated to the United States brought along the earliest form of cricket called ‘rounders’. ‘Rounders’ was played in the cricket mould, with a pair of stumps and two bases. The bowler used to bowl under arm and the batsman used cricket bats to protect their stumps. However, with the advent of time, more Americans took to the game and it was changed to suit the increasing participation. This is how Baseball originated in its earliest form.

Who earns the most?? ....Well a tough argument i guess ..!!!!....But Baseball players really earn a lot in millions...esp the big players like Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter. Its just not the Americans only but they also have players esp. from Japan who are hired on contract basis like Matsui, Matsuzaka, Ichiro.....

Atleast something in common.....bat... ball ...hit... run ...out........

Oh my god !!!!! U really go crazy to rent an apartment in New york or New jersey . It is so expensive that ur monthly salary goes totally in that. Very difficult for u to even think of saving money. Either u have a big broker fee or the apartment is very expensive for just a small room which they give. It's really bad and something has to be done to this. Either they have to reduce the rents or give more salary. lol.... Again, the safety is very important. You can just not go and rent a place. You got to see the locality, the shops have to be nearby, the subway, it shud be safe to walk in the nights. There is so much in renting or buying a place. Well another reason y the rents r high is also tht the house prices are going down drastically. So people are only renting and so it is mindblowingly increasing. Especially for people working in the financial district, it is not possbile for them to catch 3-4 trains and come to their work place. It vil take their life out before they reach for work. It is again not possbile to drive in that mad traffic in NY. Subway is the best option to go anywhere in NY.The rents near financial district are so so high that you can even not think of looking at the place. The studios are so small that even 2 people cannot walk inside the room also. In many places, sometimes the utilities are also not included or the laundry isn't in the building. It is such a pain to take all the dirty clothes somewhere, wait for it to be washed and then take them back. Just a waste of ur precious time. Who has time for all tht ??? ....Cmon folks !!!!......When are these rents ever going to reduce so that everybody can afford them....Which is the best place u think is affordable and safe??....Shud u go to realtors ???......Craiglist is good enough???.....wht ya thinking???.......speak out !!!!!!!!!

Potatoes dumped in one end of the shop..!!! Have u seen this place anywhere?? .... You have to like french fries if you're going here, since that's all they serve. These aren't just ordinary fries; these are Belgian fries (Pommes Frites).These fries are hand-cut and fried twice. The fries are short and chunky, but full of potato flavor! Very tasty ! They have a big list of sauces & toppings and you can always have a sample. You should try mayonnaise if u want to be a true Belgian.You can take your meal over to the low wooden tables, which have cupholders for your fries. It's usually quite packed in here and you should feel lucky to get a seat, usually squeezed in against other customers.This is a place you can take your kids, frenz and other french fry fanatics who visit NYC. Its always open late. So go fast and have ur bite !!!! Its in the 2nd avenue.

The 17 yr old George Hotz wud say proudly - ' I know what i did this Summer'.....
The big Hacker from Glen Rock, NJ who spent nearly 500 hours has "unlocked" the iPhone, which has now become possible for it to be used not only by AT&T but also by other providers. Now apparently we also see that the iPhone has gone down by $200. Can't imagine those guys who were standing for hours for that iPhone which also has had big problems with software. Still the Apple market is doing ok...
He is now selling his iPhones on eBay. Another surprising news is that 'CertiCell', a mobile phone repair company is giving him a brand new Nissan 350z and three 8gb iPhones in return to his unlocked iPhone. They have also promised for a consulting job in their company for him. So now who is getting rich this Summer ???

Students will be introduced to the ragas (melodic scales) and talas (rhythmic cycles) that make Carnatic music enjoyable and accessible. Students will learn the basic swaras (solfege) that form ragas, gamakas (swara ornamentations) and sollkattus (clusters of beats) that form talas and will go on to learn two traditional songs that use the above aspects.
Musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments if any, to try the Indian melodies taught.
